Hands holding a Galleri multi-cancer detection test box.

Galleri® Blood Test at Three Rivers Concierge Medicine (Creve Coeur)

Screen for 50+ cancers with a single blood draw—without replacing your regular screenings. Our physicians offer the Galleri® multi-cancer early-detection (MCED) test as an optional add-on for members and for our Executive Physical. It identifies cancer-associated signals in cell-free DNA and, when present, predicts a likely cancer-signal origin to focus next steps.

Why do patients consider Galleri?

  • Broader reach: Evaluates signals associated with 50+ cancers, including many that lack standard screening.
  • High specificity: Designed to minimize false positives while prompting actionable follow-up when positive.
  • Actionable guidance: Reports a predicted signal origin to guide confirmatory imaging or referral.

Who is it for?

Galleri is usually considered for adults 50+ or those with elevated risk. It is ordered by a clinician and used in addition to guideline-recommended screening like mammography, colonoscopy, Pap/HPV testing, and low-dose lung CT when indicated. It is not recommended during pregnancy, for individuals ≤21, or during active cancer treatment.

How it works at Three Rivers Medicine

  1. Brief consult: We confirm eligibility and review benefits, limits, and next steps. See our services.
  2. On-site blood draw: One standard tube; results typically return in ~2–3 weeks.
  3. Results visit:
    1. No cancer signal detected: Continue recommended screenings and prevention plan.
    2. Cancer signal detected: We fast-track confirmatory imaging or specialty referral based on predicted cancer-signal origin.
  4. Coordinated care: Your concierge doctor manages referrals, results, and timelines—no phone-tree chaos.

Accuracy, limits & status

Sensitivity varies by cancer type and stage (lower in very early cancers; higher in later stages). Specificity is high—yet false positives and false negatives occur. Galleri is prescription-based and used alongside—not instead of—standard cancer screening.

Pricing & coverage

Most insurance does not yet cover Galleri. HSA/FSA may be eligible. Financial-assistance programs may be available through the manufacturer. We review all pricing before ordering and offer preferred-partner rates when available.

Is Galleri right for me?

Galleri may make sense if you’re 50+, have family history or other risk, or want additional detection beyond standard screening. It does not replace mammograms, colonoscopy, Pap/HPV testing, or low-dose CT where indicated.

Quick answers

  • Will insurance cover it? Usually not. HSA/FSA may apply; we provide transparent pricing.
  • Can it miss cancers? Yes. Some cancers do not shed enough circulating DNA early; all standard screenings remain essential.
  • What if it’s positive? We quickly arrange targeted imaging or referral based on predicted cancer-signal origin.

Considering a broader plan?

Ask about our Executive Physical or full-service concierge care. Galleri can be added at preferred-partner rates.

Disclosure: The Galleri test does not diagnose cancer and does not detect all cancers. False positives and false negatives can occur. It should be used in addition to guideline-recommended screenings. Availability, eligibility, and turnaround times may change.
